Major IV is the last LAN of the regular CDL season before everyone packs up for Champs in Las Vegas, and the bracket reflects that. All 12 franchises made the trip, hosted this time by the Gentle Mates on home turf, and there is $365,000 on the table with the winner walking away with $150,000 and 100 CDL Points. Every series is a best of five until the grand final, which goes to a best of seven. Nobody wants to be the team that gets bounced early here, because the points on offer are some of the last chances for bubble teams to lock in a Champs seed.

OpTic Texas def. Boston Breach, 3-1

OpTic opened their Major IV campaign the way they have opened most of this season: fast, and without much patience for a back-and-forth series. They took Hacienda Hardpoint 250-141, dropped Hacienda Search and Destroy 2-6 to Breach's only map win of the day, then closed it out by taking Den Overload 5-3 and Sake Hardpoint 250-208. The series never got to a fifth map.

The map veto told its own story before a shot was fired. OpTic banned Gridlock Hardpoint, Fringe Search and Destroy, and Gridlock Overload. Breach countered with Colossus, Sake, and Exposure off the table, which meant Sake stayed live for OpTic and ended up being the map that finished the job.

That final map on Sake ran 9 minutes and 49 seconds and finished 250-208, and the individual numbers explain why Breach never got the hill control they needed. Huke led OpTic at 30/18 with 3,580 damage and a team-high nine objective kills, and Shotzzy backed him up with 29/22 and a series-best 25 assists, which is the kind of number that points to a team playing around the slayer rather than freelancing. Dashy chipped in 21/22 with 11 assists and 347 damage per hill rotation. Mercules had the quietest box score of the four at 14/21, but he still picked up six objective kills and the team's only zero in contested hill time, meaning nobody was taking the hill away from him when he had it.

Boston Breach were not run over on that final map, for what it's worth. Purj actually out-damaged everyone on the server with 3,662 across the map and finished 29/22, and his 2.88 kills per hill and 365.88 damage per hill were both better numbers than three of OpTic's four players. The problem was the support around him. Tjhaly went 18/23, Afro went 19/27, and Spart went 17/24 with the team's best six objective kills, but Breach's deaths kept piling up faster than OpTic's, and a Hardpoint where your star player has to outscore the entire other roster by himself is not a Hardpoint you tend to win.

It's a clean 3-1 for OpTic and a trip straight into winners round 2, while Boston Breach drop down to the elimination side of the bracket, where one more loss ends their Major.

G2 Minnesota def. Riyadh Falcons

G2 Minnesota punched their ticket to Winners Round 2 after holding off a determined Riyadh Falcons comeback in one of the closest series of CDL Major IV's opening day. G2 looked in complete control early, taking Colossus Hardpoint 250-204 before dominating Hacienda Search and Destroy 6-1 to move within a single map of closing out the series.

Riyadh Falcons refused to go quietly. They stayed alive with a 3-1 victory on Scar Overload before edging out G2 250-215 on Scar Hardpoint, forcing a decisive fifth map after trailing 2-0.

With the series on the line, G2 regrouped on Den Search and Destroy and delivered when it mattered most. They secured a 6-4 victory to stop the Falcons' reverse sweep attempt and seal a hard-fought 3-2 series win.

Vancouver refused to go quietly. The Surge clawed their way back into the series with a narrow 3-2 victory on Den Control before dominating Scar Hardpoint 250-210 to complete the comeback and force a winner-take-all fifth map.

With elimination on the line, Boston Breach regrouped when it mattered most. They delivered a composed performance on Hacienda Search and Destroy, defeating the Surge 6-1 to close out the series and advance in the lower bracket. Vancouver Surge's Major IV campaign comes to an end, while Breach move on to face another day in Paris.

Paris Gentle Mates def. Cloud9 New York, 3-0

Paris Gentle Mates kept their CDL Major IV campaign alive with an emphatic 3-0 sweep over Cloud9 New York in the elimination bracket. Playing in front of their home crowd, the hosts wasted no time taking control of the series, dismantling Cloud9 250-51 on Sake Hardpoint before edging out a tense 6-5 victory on Den Search and Destroy to move within one map of advancing.

Any hopes of a Cloud9 comeback were quickly shut down in Exposure Control. Paris carried their momentum into the third map, producing another dominant display to secure a convincing 6-1 victory and complete the sweep. Carolina looked to be cruising after edging Colossus Hardpoint 250-240 and following it up with a comfortable 6-2 victory on Hacienda Search and Destroy to move within one map of advancing.

The momentum shifted completely on Scar Control. Miami responded with a dominant 6-2 win before carrying that confidence into Hacienda Hardpoint, where they overwhelmed the Ravens 250-120 to level the series and force a deciding fifth map.
