Dplus KIA ran through the League of Legends Grand Final without dropping a single game against Karmine Corp, while PVISION needed a full four games to shake off BB Team and take the Dota 2 title. The two third place matches were settled earlier in the day, with Gen.G Esports getting past T1 and Team Yandex sweeping Vici Gaming.

Four series, four different stories. One ended in a clean sweep, one turned into the highest-scoring stretch of the tournament, and the other two never really left doubt about who was walking away with the trophy. Both Grand Finals had been locked in the day before, with the League of Legends and Dota 2 semifinals reshaping the entire bracket and eliminating the previous champions in the process. Championship Sunday was where all of that got settled for good.

The League of Legends side of the bracket had a guaranteed storyline walking in. With the reigning champion already eliminated in the semifinals, Sunday's Grand Final was always going to produce a first-time Esports World Cup winner, whether that ended up being Dplus KIA or Karmine Corp. The Dota 2 side carried a different kind of tension, since BB Team had steamrolled through their semifinal in two clean games while PVISION had needed a full three-game decider just to get there. Here is how the final day of the Esports World Cup 2026 played out, match by match.

League of Legends Third Place: Gen.G Esports Edge T1 2-1

The day opened with the League of Legends third place match, and it turned into the closest series of the tournament's final day. Gen.G Esports beat T1 2-1 after dropping the middle game, a result that put both teams through some real swings before Gen.G finally closed it out.

Gen.G took the opener comfortably, winning 26-9. T1 answered right away, flipping the second game 27-12 behind strong showings from Faker, Oner, and Peyz, and for a moment it looked like the series would go the same direction as their earlier meeting in the bracket. It did not. Gen.G came out and routed T1 26-5 in the decider, with Kiin, Canyon, and Chovy taking over the game from start to finish.

Third place is not the finish either team wanted at the start of the week, but for Gen.G in particular, closing the tournament with a dominant Game 3 after dropping Game 2 says something about how the roster responds under pressure. Gen.G came into the semifinals as the defending Esports World Cup champion, and losing that title in a decider against Dplus KIA a day earlier made this match personal in its own way. Walking away with a podium finish, even after the title defense fell short, keeps the roster's tournament from ending on a loss.

For T1, the result closes out a run that had genuine highs mixed in. Faker, Oner, and Peyz carried the team to a Game 2 win against a Gen.G squad playing with nothing left to lose, and for a stretch of that game it looked like T1 might force a full reset heading into the decider. Gen.G's response in Game 3 shut that door fast, and T1 leaves the Esports World Cup 2026 in fourth place in League of Legends.

League of Legends Grand Final: Dplus KIA Sweep Karmine Corp 3-0

There was very little suspense in the League of Legends Grand Final. Dplus KIA controlled every game against Karmine Corp and closed out the series 3-0 without ever looking like they were in danger of dropping one.

Game 1 set the tone at 18-8 over 33 minutes. Smash went 7/2/3 on Kai'Sa, Lucid anchored the jungle on Skarner with 11 assists, and ShowMaker added a 4/2/8 line on Cassiopeia as Dplus built an early lead and never let go of it. By the end of the game, Dplus had pulled 70.6K gold to Karmine Corp's 59.1K, along with an 11 to 2 advantage in towers, three Void Grubs, a Baron, and three Dragons.

Karmine Corp put up more resistance in Game 2, but it was not enough. Dplus KIA took it 16-9 in just over 31 minutes, with Smash switching to Caitlyn for a 7/1/4 performance and Career's Lux finishing with 12 assists. Lucid again set the pace from the jungle, and Dplus moved one win away from the title.

Game 3 was the most lopsided of the series. Dplus KIA closed it out 23-5 to complete the sweep. ShowMaker went deathless on Ryze at 5/0/3, Lucid's Xin Zhao and Smash's Samira both finished 8/1/11, and Career capped off the series with 19 more assists on the support side. There was nothing close about any of it.

What stands out most about the sweep is how little the series changed shape from game to game. Smash was the constant across all three, moving between Kai'Sa and Caitlyn and Samira without any drop-off in output, while Lucid controlled the jungle from start to finish. Karmine Corp had reached their first Esports World Cup Grand Final by clawing back twice against T1 in the semifinal, but that resilience never showed up against Dplus KIA. The gap between the two teams looked wider with every game rather than closer.

Dota 2 Third Place: Team Yandex Sweep Vici Gaming

Earlier in the day, Team Yandex wrapped up the Dota 2 bracket's other loose end, sweeping Vici Gaming 2-0 to take third place. Neither game was close.

Game 1 went to Team Yandex 36-15, with Watson putting up a 10/1/10 line and Saksa and Malady combining for 39 assists between them. Game 2 was even more one-sided. CHIRA_JUNIOR finished 11/1/11 as Team Yandex held Vici Gaming to just three kills the entire game, closing out the sweep with room to spare.

Vici Gaming had reached the semifinals only to run into a PVISION side that took them to a decider before pulling away, and the third place match never gave them a chance to recover any momentum from that result. Team Yandex, by contrast, played their two cleanest games of the tournament right when it mattered, and the sweep gives the roster a podium finish to close out the Esports World Cup 2026.

Dota 2 Grand Final: PVISION Defeat BB Team 3-1

The Dota 2 Grand Final told a very different story from its League of Legends counterpart. BB Team took the opening game, but PVISION answered with three straight wins to close out the series and lift the trophy.

BB Team struck first, winning Game 1 18-10 behind a strong 9/0/5 showing from MieRo and a 5/1/4 line from Kiritych. It was the only game of the series they would win.

PVISION leveled things immediately in Game 2, and it turned into one of the highest-scoring games of the entire tournament, ending 34-27 in their favor. Satanic finished 11/3/13 and No[o]ne- posted 12/3/16 as both teams traded fights for most of the match before PVISION pulled ahead late.

Game 3 went PVISION's way just as convincingly, 32-16. Satanic starred again with a 13/1/8 line on Tiny, No[o]ne- added 10/1/13, and Dukalis chipped in 19 assists to put PVISION one win from the championship.

They closed it out in Game 4 with a 29-7 win. Satanic finished 9/2/8 on Lifestealer, No[o]ne- went 6/1/15, and Dukalis added another 14 assists as PVISION completed the reverse sweep and sealed the Esports World Cup 2026 Dota 2 title.

Satanic was the through line across all four games, moving from Tiny to Lifestealer while staying the most consistent threat on either side. BB Team had arrived at the Grand Final having dropped only one map across the entire tournament, and MieRo's Game 1 performance suggested that form was carrying straight into the final. It did not last. Once PVISION leveled the series in Game 2, the momentum never swung back, and BB Team's kill totals kept shrinking with every map that followed. A team that had looked nearly untouchable through the semifinals finished the Grand Final having lost three straight games by a combined margin of over 60 kills.
