Championship Weekend continued Saturday with four series that reshuffled the road to the 2026 Call of Duty League title, and the elimination bracket did most of the damage. OpTic Texas and FaZe Vegas took care of business without much drama, but both produced reverse sweeps to stay alive, and both did it by winning three straight. Toronto KOI and defending champions Los Angeles Thieves are the ones who paid for it. Here's everything that happened on Day 2 of CDL Championship Weekend 2026.

Miami Heretics Eliminate Toronto KOI After Five-Map Thriller

The day opened with the first big comeback of the weekend. Toronto KOI looked like the team moving on after taking two of the first three maps, including a dominant 6-0 Overload win on Den. Instead, Miami Heretics won the last two maps and closed it out 3-2.

KOI answered the opening Hardpoint loss with a clean 6-3 Search & Destroy on Gridlock, then blanked Heretics 6-0 on Den to put themselves one map from the series. That's usually the point where a team closes it out. Heretics had other ideas, as they regained control and took Gridlock Hardpoint 250-210, then held their nerve in a 6-4 decider on Den to finish the reverse sweep.

Map Result
Hardpoint (Colossus) Miami Heretics won 250-167
Search & Destroy (Gridlock) Toronto KOI won 6-3
Overload (Den) Toronto KOI won 6-0
Hardpoint (Gridlock) Miami Heretics won 250-210
Search & Destroy (Den) Miami Heretics won 6-4

G2 Minnesota Reverse Sweep Defending Champions Los Angeles Thieves

If that wasn't enough drama for one day, the second elimination match topped it. Los Angeles Thieves won the opening Hardpoint on Sake by a single point, 250-249, then backed it up with a comfortable 6-2 Search & Destroy on Gridlock. Two maps in, the defending champions looked ready to move on without much resistance.

G2 Minnesota had other plans. They took Den Overload 6-1, then blew the doors off Hacienda Hardpoint 250-149 to force a fifth and final map. Everything came down to Search & Destroy on Sake, the same map where Thieves had edged them out to open the series, and this time G2 came out on top 6-4 to complete one of the bigger reverse sweeps of the season and end the defending champions' title run.

Map Result
Hardpoint (Sake) Los Angeles Thieves won 250-249
Search & Destroy (Gridlock) Los Angeles Thieves won 6-2
Overload (Den) G2 Minnesota won 6-1
Hardpoint (Hacienda) G2 Minnesota won 250-149
Search & Destroy (Sake) G2 Minnesota won 6-4

FaZe Vegas Sweep Riyadh Falcons to Book a Winners Final Spot

While the elimination bracket delivered all the chaos, FaZe Vegas made sure Winners Round 2 didn't. Riyadh Falcons had been one of the stories of Championship Weekend so far, but FaZe made quick work of them, winning 3-0.

FaZe took Scar Hardpoint comfortably at 250-192, then had to survive the closest map of their day. Riyadh pushed the Search & Destroy on Sake all the way, and FaZe barely got out with a 6-5 win. From there they never let the series slip, closing out Scar Overload 5-3 to reach the Winners Final.

Map Result
Hardpoint (Scar) FaZe Vegas won 250-192
Search & Destroy (Sake) FaZe Vegas won 6-5
Overload (Scar) FaZe Vegas won 5-3

Riyadh Falcons drop into the elimination bracket, but they're far from done. There's still another series to play if they want a shot at the Grand Finals.

OpTic Texas Overcome Paris Gentle Mates in the Day's Marquee Matchup

The last match of the day was the marquee matchup of Day 2. OpTic Texas and Paris Gentle Mates both knew a Winners Final spot was on the line, and it delivered.

OpTic opened strong, taking Scar Hardpoint 250-183. Gentle Mates answered immediately with a 6-4 win on Den Search & Destroy to even things up and remind everyone why they'd been one of the tougher outs of the weekend. Map 3 was the one that mattered most. Scar Overload turned into a genuine back-and-forth, and OpTic scraped out a 5-4 win to put Gentle Mates on the brink. From there OpTic never let up, running away with Colossus Hardpoint 250-127 to close the series 3-1 and set up a Winners Final against FaZe Vegas.

Map Result
Hardpoint (Scar) OpTic Texas won 250-183
Search & Destroy (Den) Paris Gentle Mates won 6-4
