CDL Champs 2026 Grand Final: FaZe Vegas Cap Undefeated Run with Championship Victory Over OpTic Texas

After completing an undefeated run through the Winners Bracket, FaZe Vegas defeated top-seeded OpTic Texas 5-2 in the CDL Champs 2026 Grand Final to capture the organization's first Call of Duty League title. The scoreline suggests a comfortable victory. The series was anything but. Four of the seven maps were decided by the slimmest of margins, including three Search & Destroy battles that went all the way to Round 11.

FaZe secured their place in the Grand Final by defeating OpTic Texas in the Winners Final a day earlier, forcing the tournament favorites into the Elimination Bracket. OpTic battled back to earn a rematch on Championship Sunday, but FaZe once again came out on top to complete a flawless run through the tournament.

Here’s how it all played out.

OpTic Race Out to an Early Lead

OpTic Texas made the perfect start to the Grand Final.

FaZe controlled the opening rotation and built an early 98-20 lead after the first set of hills. OpTic did not panic. They clawed their way back through cleaner rotations and better teamwork around the middle hills, then overtook FaZe late and never gave the lead back, closing out the map 250-216.

Mercules led OpTic with 34 kills, and Dashy controlled the objective with over two minutes of hill time. Every FaZe player still finished with at least 28 eliminations, which said more about how even the series would turn out to be than the final score did.

FaZe Steal Raid to Level the Series

The first Search & Destroy delivered drama immediately.

Neither team could pull away as the two sides traded rounds throughout Raid. Shotzzy and Mercules kept OpTic alive with aggressive entries, and FaZe answered with coordinated retakes and a handful of clutch individual plays.

Tied 5-5, the map went to a deciding Round 11, the first of three the series would produce. FaZe held their nerve and won it, stealing Raid 6-5 to even things up.

Abuzah Takes Over on Overload

Another map, another nail-biter.

Overload on Scar saw both teams trade successful carrier runs from start to finish. Abuzah put in one of the standout individual performances of the Grand Final, finishing with 42 eliminations while constantly disrupting OpTic’s pushes.

OpTic fought back late to force a tense finish, but FaZe held on for a 4-3 win and their first series lead.

Drazah and Abuzah Power a Dominant Hardpoint

FaZe carried the momentum straight into the second Hardpoint.

Unlike the opener, this one belonged to Vegas almost from the start. Strong hill setups and disciplined breaks kept OpTic from building any sustained pressure. Drazah put up one of his best Hardpoint performances of the tournament with 39 kills, and Abuzah added 31 kills and nearly two minutes of hill time.

OpTic threatened to close the gap more than once but could never recover from FaZe’s mid-game scoring run. The 250-194 win pushed FaZe within one map of the championship.

Simp Delivers Again as FaZe Reach Championship Point

Facing a potential championship point, OpTic needed a response. They did not get one.

Another tight Search & Destroy went the distance, with neither side stringing together enough rounds to create separation. It reached a deciding eleventh round for the second time in the series. Simp took over late, finishing with 14 kills, while OpTic struggled to convert several chances down the stretch.

FaZe edged it 6-5 to move to championship point.

OpTic Force a Seventh Map

OpTic finally answered.

Staring at elimination, the top seed produced one of their toughest performances of the season. Shotzzy was outstanding all map, finishing with 26 eliminations, and Mercules made several key objective plays to keep OpTic alive. FaZe threatened to close out the championship more than once, but OpTic would not break, taking Overload 4-3 to extend the series.

Abuzah Wins the Final Duel

With the championship on the line, the Grand Final saved its best for last.

For the third time in the series, Search & Destroy went to a deciding Round 11, and once again neither team could create any separation. The final round turned chaotic fast. With 43 seconds left, 04 found the opening pick on Shotzzy. Six seconds later, Drazah eliminated Dashy, and OpTic suddenly faced a 2v4.

OpTic did not fold. Huke produced a double kill with 34 seconds remaining, taking down both Drazah and Simp to swing the round back their way. It lasted about a second. 04 traded Huke out almost immediately to hand the advantage back to FaZe.

That left Mercules alone against 04 and Abuzah. He eliminated 04 with 30 seconds on the clock to force a 1v1 against Abuzah, and for a moment it looked like OpTic might force an eighth map. Abuzah won the duel with roughly 20 seconds left, eliminating Mercules to seal the round, the map, and the 2026 Call of Duty League Championship. Just moments earlier, it had looked like Huke and Mercules might pull off one last miracle to extend the series. Instead, Abuzah slammed the door shut on OpTic's championship hopes with the tournament's final elimination.
