After two days of upsets and bracket chaos, Day 3 of IEM Cologne Major Stage 3 started delivering answers. Two teams locked in their playoff spots. Three more got close. Two were eliminated. And Vitality, once again, found a way to win without looking convincing doing it.
Here is the full account of every match on June 13, plus what is scheduled for Day 4 on June 14, where the remaining six playoff berths get decided.
FURIA Advance First: 13-6, 13-6 Over BetBoom
FURIA were the first team to book their playoff spot, and they did it without breaking a sweat. BetBoom had been one of the more interesting stories of Stage 3, sweeping Falcons and making themselves a genuine threat after two rounds. Against FURIA, that threat was nowhere to be found.
The scores tell it plainly. Overpass went 13-6. Dust II went 13-6. FURIA were the better team on both maps by a distance, and YEKINDAR was the best player on the server for most of the series. He has been building to this all week, and this was the cleanest he has looked in 2026.
The context here matters. FURIA going 3-0 in Stage 3 means they are heading into the playoffs on a perfect run in Cologne, with FalleN in what he has said is one of his final two Majors. They are not just a feel-good story at this point. They are a playoff team that just went through Stage 3 without dropping a series. Whoever draws them in the quarterfinals is not going to enjoy it.
FURIA swept BetBoom 13-6, 13-6. Three straight Bo3 wins. FalleN heads to the Cologne Major playoffs for one of the last times in his career.
Spirit Qualify, 9z Push Them Further Than Anyone Expected
Spirit vs 9z was the match of the night. And the score does not quite capture how close it actually was.
Spirit took Overpass 16-12 to go up 1-0. 9z won Mirage 16-13, levelling the series. Then Dust II, the decider, went 16-14 to Spirit. Three maps. Every map close. Spirit won, but 9z made them work for every round.
What 9z did this week deserves to be stated clearly. They beat Vitality 2-1 on Day 2 after dropping the first map. They then pushed Spirit, who had not lost a series since arriving at this tournament, all the way to a tight Dust II decider where the final margin was two rounds. 9z came into Stage 3 as a team nobody was discussing as a playoff threat. They leave it having beaten a Major champion and taken the tournament's best team to the wire.
Spirit, for their part, keep producing results while also showing the occasional human moment. This was their first real test, and they passed it. donk was again the player who showed up when the series got tight. They are in the playoffs and they are still the team everyone else is trying to avoid in the bracket.
Spirit win 2-1, but 9z made the series go 16-14 on the decider. Not bad for a team everyone had written off before Stage 3 started.
The 1-1 Pool: Falcons Recover, Aurora Sweep G2
Falcons came into Day 3 needing to respond after getting swept by BetBoom. They did, beating Monte 2-1 on Inferno, Dust II, and Mirage. The series went the distance, with Falcons winning the decider 13-10. NiKo and the roster are now 2-1 and one win from the playoffs. The BetBoom result was a stumble. This was the bounce-back.
Monte are 1-2 after that loss and now fighting to stay alive. They came back against PARIVISION earlier in the stage. Whether they can do it again is another question.
Aurora beat G2 2-0 and that result needs more attention than it is getting. G2 came in having recovered from a Day 1 loss with a Day 2 win over FUT. Aurora, meanwhile, had lost to Spirit after going 2-0 in the opening stage and were sitting at 1-1 needing a win. They got it convincingly, Overpass 13-8 and Anubis 13-7. Aurora are 2-1 going into Day 4 and looking far more dangerous than their bracket position suggested two days ago.
G2 drop to 1-2 after that result. They are now in elimination territory.
Vitality Survive MOUZ, But It Was Not Pretty
Vitality vs MOUZ was the match that most people were watching from a narrative standpoint. Vitality had lost to 9z on Day 2 and dropped into the 1-1 pool. Another loss and the defending champions would be on the edge of Swiss elimination. That would have been the story of the year.
They won 2-1. But watching it, you got the sense that ZywOo carried more weight than the team structure should require at this level. Vitality took map one, MOUZ took map two, and the decider went Vitality's way. They are 2-1 and back in control of their own destiny. MOUZ, who had looked solid throughout Stage 3, are now 1-2 and in real danger.
The concern for Vitality is not that they are losing, it is that they are winning ugly. ZywOo is doing what ZywOo does, but the team around him has not clicked the way you would expect from a back-to-back Major champion chasing a three-peat. If they meet Spirit in the playoffs, that gap in team cohesion is going to matter.
Eliminations: PARIVISION and B8 Go Home
In the 0-2 elimination matches, two more teams were sent home. PARIVISION lost to Legacy. B8 lost to FUT. Both go home with 0-3 records in Stage 3.
PARIVISION's exit is the more surprising one. They won BLAST Bounty Winter 2026 earlier this year and entered Cologne as a genuinely fancied side. They never found their footing in Stage 3. Zero wins in three Bo3 matches is a result that requires some reflection when they get home.
FUT and Legacy both survive to fight another day. FUT are 1-2. Legacy are 1-2. Both need a win on Day 4 to extend their tournament.
NAVI Beat MongolZ in a Messy Series
NAVI defeated The MongolZ 2-1 on Nuke, Ancient, and Mirage, and the series was closer than that record suggests. The MongolZ went up 5-11 on Nuke before NAVI ran it back to win the map. NAVI took Ancient decisively. Then The MongolZ took Mirage 13-6 to force the decider, and NAVI closed the series out.
NAVI are 2-1 and in a position to qualify for the playoffs on Day 4. The MongolZ are 1-2 and now need a win to stay alive. After losing to BetBoom on Day 1 and recovering to beat B8 before losing to NAVI, The MongolZ's stage has been inconsistent. A tougher draw in Day 4 makes their situation harder.

Six playoff spots left. Four teams at 2-1 need one win. Six teams at 1-2 need one win to stay alive and another to qualify. Day 4 and Day 5 will settle all of it before June 15.
Day 4: What's on the Schedule for June 14
Day 4 is the round where most of the remaining playoff spots get confirmed or denied. The 2-1 teams play each other, so two of Vitality, Falcons, Aurora, and NAVI go 3-1 and book their spots. The other two drop to 2-2 and need to come back on Day 5.
The headliner is Falcons vs NAVI, which is already generating attention on HLTV. Both sides want a playoff berth. Both have history with each other and NiKo's long-standing rivalry with the NAVI organisation adds a layer to it. Whoever wins goes to the playoffs. Whoever loses goes to a do-or-die Day 5 decider.
Vitality vs Aurora is the other 2-1 match. Vitality should win based on individual quality, but Aurora just swept G2 and have been inconsistent in the most interesting way this stage, losing to Spirit then beating G2. If ZywOo has an off-series, Aurora can absolutely take a map or two.
In the 1-2 bracket, the elimination picture gets clearer. G2 vs MOUZ sends one of them to 2-2 and the other to 1-3 and out. The MongolZ vs Monte is another bracket match where the loser is in serious trouble. FUT vs Legacy and the BetBoom line will complete the field.

The Bigger Picture: What Spirit and FURIA's 3-0 Runs Mean
Two teams went through Stage 3 without losing a series. That tells you something about where the rest of the bracket stands.
Spirit have not dropped a series since arriving at this tournament across all three stages. The closest anyone has come is 9z going 16-14 on the Dust II decider last night. In the playoffs, they will have real tests from whoever qualifies around them, but they have earned the right to be called the favourite.
FURIA going 3-0 is a different kind of story. This is a team that entered Cologne without being anyone's pick to go deep. They beat MOUZ, BetBoom in convincing fashion, and did it all while carrying the weight of FalleN's retirement run. If FalleN gets a third Cologne win in what he has described as one of his final two Majors, that is one of the better stories professional Counter-Strike has produced in a while. He told HLTV this week that no other player has won Cologne three times yet, and that it would be a cherry on top. He means it. You can tell.
The playoffs begin June 18 at the Lanxess Arena. Eight teams, single-elimination, Bo3 until the grand final which is Bo5. The whole thing wraps up June 21. Spirit and FURIA are already there. Six more spots get decided today and tomorrow.
