The Summer 2026 VR Games Showcase ran on June 23, sixth edition, and it did not run short. Twenty-five games in the main show. Eight more in the pre-show. Two shadow-dropped while the stream was still live. Triangle Factory, who built Breachers and Forefront, showed up with a full spin-off that nobody had leaked. Payday: Aces High got more airtime than it has at any show since its reveal.
The showcase is independent, no single publisher running the card. Games come from Meta Quest, PS VR2, and SteamVR, which means it catches a wider slice of the VR market than a platform-specific event would. What follows is every game from both the main show and the pre-show, with release dates and platforms where known.
The Biggest Reveals
Breachers: Outbreak (Triangle Factory)
This was the headline. Triangle Factory revealed a co-op spin-off set in the Breachers universe: a 4-player zombie extraction shooter where you drop into infected quarantine zones, recover whatever stops the outbreak, and get out. The tactical gunplay from Breachers carries over, but the format flips from competitive to PvE co-op. Triangle Factory knows how to make VR guns feel right, and that transfers well to a co-op format. Platforms are Meta Quest, Pico, SteamVR, and Steam. No specific date beyond 2026.
DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew (Salmi Games)
Salmi Games, the studio behind Sweet Surrender, revealed their next game. DRIFTERS: Blackout Crew is a PvE extraction shooter with a setup that actually justifies the extraction format: your mothership is dying, and you raid ancient alien temples to steal the energy keeping it alive. Four players, drop in, scavenge, decide how deep is worth the risk, get out. Back on the ship, the loot goes into weapon parts and suit upgrades for the next run. It is structurally similar to Tarkov-style games but built for VR's physical controls from the ground up, not adapted from a keyboard setup. Meta Quest and SteamVR, date TBA.
Payday: Aces High (Fast Travel Games)
More stage time here than at any previous event. Fast Travel Games ran a full developer direct right after the main show, so Payday: Aces High essentially had two slots. The game is a VR-exclusive entry in the series, up to 4-player co-op, built for VR rather than ported. You are going after a corrupt business empire. The tone is theatrical, masks-on, breach-and-grab chaos. This is the game Payday fans with VR headsets have been waiting on for a while now. Meta Quest and PC VR, still 2026.
The Rifted Skies (DreamVR)
An acrobatic roguelite with a deliberate focus on comfort. You swing your arms to sprint, leap across collapsing ruins, and climb anything. DreamVR built the movement system around keeping motion sickness low, which matters for a game this physically active. Unlock new abilities across runs, stay ahead of a closing Rift. Meta Quest and SteamVR, Fall 2026.
I Am Your Beast VR (Flat2VR Spark)
Flat2VR Spark is converting the critically regarded flatscreen roguelike into full VR. You play as Alphonse Harding, a retired black-ops agent being hunted through the wilderness after turning down one last job. Each level is a micro-sandbox where you improvise, disarm, and take down enemies using whatever the environment gives you. The physical VR controls are a natural fit for a game built around improvised real-time combat. SteamVR Early Access later this year.
Shadow Drops: Out Now
Skeleton Crew (1A3M Studio)
Announced and released during the show itself. Skeleton Crew is a co-op pirate action game on Meta Quest 3 and 3s. You pick a target, chart an approach through open levels, and fight your way through using pistols, swords, and occasionally a freshly severed skull. The physics-driven combat is the draw. Shadow dropping mid-showcase is a bold call, but 1A3M built this specifically for Quest 3 hardware and clearly felt it was ready.
INWIGO (Dirty Pearl Studios)
Also out on launch day, INWIGO hit Meta Quest in Early Access during the show. Two players explore Thornwake Manor through "The Almost," an in-between space where children can see things adults cannot. The horror is quieter than most VR horror, built around uncovering what was left behind rather than running from what is chasing you. Dirty Pearl Studios is a small studio, and going into Early Access immediately after a showcase reveal is a fast way to get player feedback without a long build-up.
Main Show: All Other Announcements
Lanesplit VR (FunkyMouse)
Motorcycle racing game Lanesplit added VR support and launched the update on June 23. Players weave through traffic on electric motorcycles in first-person VR, with new weather effects including thunderstorms and appearances from real-world motorcycle influencers Brian636, CyborgAngel, and GhostRider as playable characters. The base game is on Steam; the VR update is live now on SteamVR.
Maestro: Attack on Titan DLC (Double Jack)
The orchestra conducting VR game Maestro is getting an Attack on Titan DLC pack, rolling out soon across Meta Quest, Pico, PS VR2, and SteamVR. Not a game-changer, but licensed soundtrack drops are how music games stay alive between bigger content updates, and Attack on Titan's score is genuinely good material to conduct.
EXOSHOCK Multiplayer Update (PolarityOne)
Squad-based PvE shooter Exoshock is adding multiplayer support in July. The game is a 1 to 4 player co-op experience set in deep space, built to support both VR and non-VR players together in the same sessions. Currently in Early Access on Meta Quest and Steam, with a PS VR2 version confirmed as coming later. The July update brings the online co-op component that the Early Access build has been missing.
Wizherd Major Update (Squido Studio)
Co-op VR dungeon crawler Wizherd is getting a significant update soon. The game has been in Early Access on Meta Quest since February 2026, with a full Q4 2026 release planned. Players cast spells with their hands, fight through dungeon waves, and take on zone bosses. The showcase appearance was for a content update ahead of the full release rather than a new game reveal.
Outlanders VR (Mucho Games and Pomelo Games)
The cosy town-building strategy game Outlanders is coming to VR. The original flatscreen version has a dedicated following, and the VR adaptation is being handled as a native experience rather than a port. Players build settlements, manage resources, and guide their population through survival and growth. Coming to Meta Quest and Steam in Q4 2026, with other platforms a possibility later.
Nomsters (Squido Studio and Wide Game)
A free-to-play social pet collecting game for Meta Quest. Players hatch pets from loot boxes, build collections, trade with others, and show off rare finds. It is positioned as a casual social VR experience rather than an action game. Release is targeting Summer 2026.
Roar (Spectral Games)
Spectral Games, the studio behind The Lightkeepers and Medieval Dynasty, revealed their next game: a free-to-play social VR adventure where you fly as a dragon. Open world, aerial combat, progression toward rarer and more powerful dragon forms. It is built around playing with others rather than solo, which makes sense as a free-to-play title that needs ongoing player population to work. Meta Quest, Q4 2026.
The Lightkeepers (Spectral Games)
Launch date confirmed: September 10, 2026, exclusively on Meta Quest. The Lightkeepers is a co-op adventure built around a lighthouse under siege. By day, players explore islands and loot dungeons for supplies. By night, they defend the lighthouse flame from waves of creatures. The survival loop alternates between open exploration and structured defense, which gives it a rhythm that sets it apart from pure wave-shooter VR games.
Transformers: Beyond Reality Redux (META4 Interactive and Illogika)
The on-rails Transformers shooter is coming to Meta Quest on September 3, bringing new features that were not in the existing PS VR2 version. Players suit up in a hybrid Cybertronian-human exosuit and fight Decepticons across a story involving a corrupting energy source called Synthetic Dark Energon. The Meta Quest version is a redux edition rather than a straight port, with additional content built in.
Sol Protocol Release Windows Confirmed (Singular Perception)
Co-op space roguelike Sol Protocol got concrete release dates. Meta Quest Early Access launches in September 2026. SteamVR Early Access follows in October 2026. Up to three players physically pilot a spaceship together, managing turrets, boarding stations on foot, and making strategic decisions about how deep to push into procedurally generated stellar systems.
FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR PS VR2 Wishlist Goes Live (Flat2VR Spark)
FlatOut 4 VR has been in SteamVR Early Access since May 2026. The showcase was used to confirm that a PS VR2 version is in development, with the PlayStation Store wishlist now open. The game converts FlatOut's crash-heavy arcade racing into a first-person VR experience with full multiplayer, stunt modes, and demolition arenas.
R.A.I.D. (FusionPlay)
First gameplay reveal for this co-op shooter and cargo inspection game. Players are ESF customs agents stationed on an orbital space station, inspecting incoming freighters. Some of those freighters need to be boarded, and the boarding operations involve up to 4-player combat with sci-fi weapons including lightning casters and what the developer calls an "alien potato launcher." The combination of bureaucratic inspection mechanics and explosive boarding missions is an unusual pairing. Coming to Meta Quest and SteamVR in Fall 2026.
Primal Rumble Closed Beta Opens (Play XD)
Strategic card battler Primal Rumble opened closed beta signups for Meta Quest. The game mixes deck-building with comedic multiplayer VR combat, and supports both full VR and mixed reality modes where the arena scales to your physical space. Players build decks around animal characters and compete in chaotic head-to-head matches. Beta access is through the Primal Rumble Discord.
VRacer Hoverbike New DLC (VertexBreakers)
Futuristic VR racer VRacer Hoverbike, out now on Meta Quest, PS VR2, and SteamVR, launched new paid content at the showcase. The Supporter Pack and two premium track DLCs, Neopolis Ascend and Kepler, are available now. The game's free Track Editor has already generated over 300 community-made tracks since launch, and VertexBreakers added a weekly multiplayer meetup to keep the player base active.
Trombone Champ: Unflattened Disney Movie Magic Volume 1 (Flat2VR Studios)
Six Disney songs are coming to the VR trombone game this summer. The pack includes tracks from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King, alongside two new themed performance venues. The DLC launches on Meta Quest, PS VR2, and SteamVR. Flat2VR teased this back in March. It is now confirmed and dated for this summer.
Guardians Planetfall (VirtualAge)
From the creators of Guardians Frontline, a new squad-based VR shooter with a bigger scope. Guardians Planetfall drops up to 4 players into a galaxy-wide war across procedurally generated planets and space installations. The enemies include hostile aliens, Void soldiers, and large war machines. Q4 2026 on Meta Quest and SteamVR.
Hot Dogs, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades 2 (RUST LTD)
A new featurette from RUST teased melee combat and other upcoming systems for the sequel to H3VR. H3VR 2 is a firearm sandbox game with a premise that only makes sense in VR context: you play as a sentient hot dog fighting through a procedurally generated megastructure. The original built one of the most dedicated VR player communities because of its obsessive weapon simulation depth. The sequel is targeting Meta Quest and Steam, release date still TBA.
Korea. IL-2 Series VR Support Revealed (1C Game Studios)
The Korean War flight simulator Korea. IL-2 Series showed off its VR mode for the first time, with the game entering Early Access on PC and PC VR on June 25, two days after the showcase. The full release is August 4. Players fly early jet fighters from the Korean War era in a next-generation flight sim with full cockpit VR immersion. This is one of the few simulation titles at the showcase, and it fills a specific gap in the VR flight sim library.
Pre-Show Announcements
Bullet Time Agent (Studio CyFi and Lakuza Labs)
A sci-fi bullet hell action game where players slow time, dodge storms of incoming fire, and punch through robot-filled arenas with super-powered jumps. Boss encounters escalate across the run. The trailer was shot on Quest, which is a notable choice for a pre-show reveal. Coming to Meta Quest, SteamVR, and PC in 2026.
Salmon Man Multiplayer Update (Valem Studio)
Physics-based precision platformer Salmon Man is adding multiplayer in July. Players climb upstream using a paddle, and the multiplayer update turns that into a competitive race with a new mountain map, lava mode, and new cosmetic unlocks. The game launched in January 2026 on Meta and Steam.
Fixer Undercover Steam and SteamVR Launch (Creativity AR)
Escape-room adventure game Fixer Undercover, already out on Meta Quest, is coming to Steam and SteamVR on July 16. Players go undercover as a maintenance worker inside a corrupt prison, using real tools to solve tactile puzzles and expose a brainwashing operation. The game supports both VR and flatscreen play. A PS VR2 version is planned for later.
Bamboo Grove (LingYouth Games Studio)
A horror game with a meta twist. Players are game testers assigned to evaluate a VR horror title called Bamboo Grove. As the test continues, anomalies start appearing, and eventually the player finds themselves still inside the game even after taking off the headset. The premise sits in the same space as self-referential horror games that blur the line between the fiction and the player. Pre-orders opened June 23. Release is September 2026 on Meta Quest.
Beat the Beats Steam Level Editor Launch (Parallel Circles)
Rhythm boxing game Beat the Beats launched a Level Editor in Steam Workshop beta on June 23. Players can now build and share custom music tracks. The game is across Steam, Meta, Pico, and PS VR2.
Augmental Puzzles Nonograms Update (Flammable Penguins)
Mixed reality puzzle game Augmental Puzzles added Nonograms, the grid-based deduction puzzle format, as a new mode. The game is in Early Access on Meta and PC VR, with a PS VR2 port planned.
Dagger Woods VR (Paracosm Studio)
A psychological thriller set in Nova Scotia, Canada, inspired by true stories and local folklore. Players take on the role of Maggie Carmichael in the early 1960s, searching for her three missing children in snow-covered Dagger Woods while something called the Hidey-Hinder, a figure from local legend, may be responsible. The escape room structure is wrapped in a folklore horror narrative. Coming to PC VR, PS VR2, and Meta Quest.
Daumier: Lila and Ghost (LingVision Games)
Co-op puzzle adventure where two players take on the roles of Lila and Ghost, exploring a mysterious gallery of living artworks. One player is in VR, the other plays as the ghost companion. The puzzle design requires both to collaborate. Launching in Early Access on Meta Quest in Summer 2026, with a full release in Autumn 2026.
What the Show Tells You About VR Right Now
Thirty-plus games across two hours. Nothing in that lineup makes you buy a headset on the spot. There is no Half-Life: Alyx moment here, and if that is what you came for, you left hungry. That is a fair read of where VR is right now. The platform holders are not funding many giant exclusives, so the showcase runs on mid-size and indie studios. What it has instead is range: extraction shooters, heist games, rhythm games, horror, flight sims, a dragon social game, a pirate co-op, a card battler in mixed reality. The breadth is wider than it was a couple of years ago.
The two shadow drops are worth sitting with. Shadow dropping in VR is unusual. 1A3M Studio and Dirty Pearl Studios both decided the trailer-and-immediate-download approach was worth more than a long pre-release window. For smaller titles that could easily get lost in a busy calendar, that instinct is probably right.
The biggest lingering question is Payday: Aces High. Fast Travel has been showing it at showcase after showcase without giving people a date. The developer direct after the main show suggests they wanted room to actually explain how it plays rather than just dropping another cinematic. The trailers look like Payday. Whether the heist mechanics hold up in VR is the only thing that matters now, and that does not get answered until the game ships.
The full VR Games Showcase Summer 2026 is on YouTube via the official VR Games Showcase channel.
