Capcom ran its June 2026 Spotlight yesterday, June 25, at 2 PM PDT. Thirty minutes, three games, and one anniversary announcement. The show wasn't trying to be a big reveal event. It was more of a here's-what's-coming-and-when broadcast, and for what it was, it delivered. Dragon's Dogma 2 fans got a date. Monster Hunter Stories 3 got its Rudy DLC out immediately. Onimusha got a new boss. And Resident Evil's 30th anniversary got an official acknowledgment with actual plans attached to it.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Gets Rudy DLC Out Now
Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto opened the Spotlight with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, and rather than just teasing something coming soon, Capcom dropped the first major DLC the same day. The Additional Side Story: Rudy DLC is live now on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam, priced at $9.99.
The DLC focuses on Rudy, the Royal Felyne, and traces the history of the ancestors who came before him. The story takes Rudy face to face with Navirou, the legendary Felyne from the original Monster Hunter Stories who once saved the world, and the Elder Dragon Nergigante shows up as a major encounter along the way. Worth noting: Nergigante cannot be added to your monstie roster, which will disappoint anyone going in expecting a new partner. Anyone who purchased the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe Edition already has the Rudy DLC included.
Alongside the paid DLC, Capcom released a free update that adds Royal Monsters to the field. Clearing the Final Battle on Hard with a completed save unlocks Royal Monster versions of nearly every creature in the game, including Invasive Monsters and Calamitous Elder Dragons. This is the endgame challenge mode that was previously announced for Summer 2026, and it's now out earlier than some players were expecting.
Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Gets October 9 Release Date
This was the headline of the show. Director Kento Kinoshita walked through Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen in detail, and confirmed it launches October 9, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
The expansion takes the Arisen into Norgan, a long-abandoned northern region, and centres on a mechanic called the Relic Expedition Cycle. You find relics, get them appraised to unlock new weapons and skills, then use those to push further into the secrets surrounding the Fallen Dragon and a pursuer named Eir. There are 12 challenge dungeons in the expansion, plus new character customisation options including hair and tattoo choices for your Arisen and main Pawn.
Pricing splits into two options. The full bundle, which pairs the base game with the Dark Arisen expansion, costs $49.99. That bundle is also how Dragon's Dogma 2 comes to Switch 2 for the first time. Players who already own the base game on PS5, Xbox Series X and S, or PC can buy the expansion on its own for $29.99. Pre-ordering gets you the Norgan Fashion Set Northern Attire, which is accessible from in-game storage at launch. Anyone who pre-orders the bundle on those three platforms gets immediate access to the base game right now, without waiting for the October 9 date.
There is also a separate base-game update coming in late August, unrelated to the expansion. It improves performance across all platforms, adds more save slots, adjusts the Dragonsplague condition, and raises weapon skill slots from four to six. Director Satoru Nihei brought Onimusha: Way of the Sword to the show with a new boss reveal. The enemy is Dohatsu-ten, a fast, winged Genma who crosses blades with protagonist Miyamoto Musashi. The reveal was mainly a combat showcase, and the new enemy looks like it fits the same aggressive, reaction-heavy style the demo established.

Resident Evil Turns 30 With an Exhibit and a Concert Tour
The final segment of the Spotlight shifted to Resident Evil, which hits its 30th anniversary this year. Capcom didn't use the moment to announce a new game, but there are two real-world events tied to the milestone.
First, The World of Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Exhibit opens at Shibuya Beam in Tokyo on October 30 and runs through December 24. Tickets go on sale in early July.
Second, Capcom is taking the Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Concerts, titled Symphony of Legacy, on a world tour beginning this August, following the Japanese leg that already ran earlier in 2026. Tickets are available now.
This segment of the show arrived off the back of a busy year for the franchise. Resident Evil Requiem launched earlier in 2026, and Resident Evil Veronica was revealed as the next remake in the pipeline. Neither game appeared in the Spotlight itself, confirming that Capcom is holding those announcements for a different venue, likely Gamescom or a dedicated Resident Evil showcase later this year.
What Was Not at the Spotlight
Notable by its absence: Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, the large-scale expansion targeting a 2027 release, did not appear. Neither did any new information on Resident Evil Veronica or Resident Evil Requiem beyond the anniversary mention. Capcom went in saying this would be a focused 30-minute round-up of announced games, and that's exactly what it was. If you were hoping for a surprise reveal, there wasn't one.
