Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Update 1.0.6 Adds Blowpipe Hide Option and Major Fixes

Ubisoft has pushed out Title Update 1.0.6 for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, and the headline feature is one players have been asking for since the remaster was announced: you can finally hide Edward Kenway's blowpipe. It's a small thing on paper, but it's the kind of quality-of-life feature many players have been requesting since launch, giving Edward a cleaner appearance for different outfit combinations.

The update rolled out across PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam, and alongside the cosmetic option, it carries a genuinely long list of fixes touching combat, naval battles, stealth, quests, and general stability.

Hide the Blowpipe, Keep More Autosaves

The blowpipe toggle lives in the Outfit menu, where players can now flip between Hide Gear and Show Gear to control whether it stays strapped to Edward's back. It joins the growing pile of customization tweaks Ubisoft has added to the remaster since launch, and honestly, it should have been there from day one. Plenty of players run outfits built around a cleaner silhouette, and the blowpipe never really fit that look.

Autosaves also got a bump, going from five slots up to ten. That doesn't sound dramatic until you've lost twenty minutes of sailing and looting to a bad quicksave, and then it sounds like the best change in the patch.

Combat, Naval, and Performance Fixes

Beyond the cosmetic stuff, 1.0.6 spends most of its weight on gameplay. Ubisoft says it addressed issues in combat, stealth, naval battles, and parkour, plus crashes that could hit during both land and sea encounters. Rope dart abilities got fixes too, along with tweaks to enemy behavior, assassination interactions, and a handful of progression blockers scattered through the campaign.

PC players get one fix worth calling out specifically: cutscenes were running above 30 FPS when custom graphics settings were in use, which threw off animation timing and made some scenes look off. That's patched now, so cutscenes should hold their intended pacing regardless of your frame rate settings elsewhere.

Quest, World, and Visual Cleanup

The patch also chips away at quest-specific bugs, including ones that could stop players from getting the Mayan Armor or block progress on certain story missions. If you've been stuck on either of those, this update is worth checking before you start troubleshooting on your own.

On top of that, Ubisoft cleaned up world navigation bugs, visual glitches, camera issues, lighting problems, and animation inconsistencies scattered across the Caribbean. Localization got some attention too, with fixes for Simplified Chinese and Arabic, and audio issues around missing sound effects and dialogue balancing have been addressed in several situations.

Patch Sizes by Platform

The gap between the Xbox download and everything else is pretty noticeable. Xbox Series X|S owners are looking at over four times the size of the Steam version, which usually comes down to how each platform packages updated assets and audio, rather than anything specific to this patch.

A Patch Built Around Player Feedback

Ubisoft has framed a good chunk of Title Update 1.0.6 as a direct response to community bug reports, and the blowpipe option is the clearest example of that. It's not a feature that moves the needle on gameplay, but it's exactly the kind of request that shows up constantly in feedback threads and rarely gets addressed this fast.

The rest of the patch reads like standard post-launch maintenance, and that's not a knock. A remaster still finding and fixing crash bugs and quest blockers months after release is doing what it's supposed to do. Between the naval and combat fixes, the quest corrections, and the PC cutscene fix, this is a genuinely substantial update for anyone still working through Edward's story.
